Yay... It's Friday!

Looking forward to the weekend. It is snowing outside right now as I am getting ready to head out the door... This weekend will be spent getting ready for Thanksgiving. I am having my family over on Thursday. This is my favorite time of year. Love having the family together! I do dread having to venture out to do Christmas shopping. I like going in and getting exactly what I am looking for and getting out as quickly as I can. That doesn't always happen, but maybe perhaps this year will be different. We are focusing more on the meaning of Christmas without a lot hoopla.

I think this weekend I will also decorate the outside of the house. Who knows... we'll see...

Our First Post

It has been pretty crazy around here! October 3rd, I lost my job of 7 years due to economic conditions. Ironically, the very next day I received a phone call from a gentleman I know through my industry asking to meet me to discuss a job opportunity. Low and behold, I landed the job. I have spent the last 4 weeks between Chicago, St. Louis, Baltimore, New York and this is just the beginning...

Glenn is attending UTI (Universal Technical Institute) and is now going through the VW Academy. He currently has a 3.98 GPA. He started racing this fall as a part of the Philadelphia Region of the SCCA. His 2nd race out, he placed 4th at Citizens Bank Park! One of his runs, he asked me if I would ride with him... Good thing he doesn't drive like that out on the roads, LOL!

Cody finished up his football season with Daniel Boone Middle School. During the season he broke his left hand, got his cast off and then broke his right... Needless to say, he still played with the casts on. What a true football player, LOL! He has great grades at school and is now starting back up with indoor lacrosse. Both of my boys have been playing for well over 9 years.

I am so proud of Jay. He quit smoking and is now in his 5th week! He feels great and even put on 10 much needed pounds! During the summer months, he loses weight with all of the work he does around here to maintain the property. He is so awesome!

In September, Jay and I celebrated our 15th wedding anniversary with a trip to Key West. It was a much needed get away only to be shortened by an emergency evacuation due to hurricane Ike. Here is a picture of he and I on our actual anniversary at the best Cuban restaurant in the world, Meson de Pepe... Oh and by the way, I found the dish that I had for dinner, chicken and rice and made it a few weeks back. Absolutely delicious!

I look forward to keeping in touch with so many through this website. Bear with me while I get used to it!

have a great night!
